Ayahuasca Workshop
The purpose of the workshop is to help to find the ways for inner healing and opening to the intrinsic harmony certainly accessible and natural to every human being.

Immersed in an authentic and clear environment of the Amazon Jungle a participant is guided through the sequence of three native Ayahuasca medicine sessions. During 7 days a person goes into the experience of the Ayahuasca shamanic plant medicine combined with the exploration of rainforest. That gives an ideal setting to inquire into the vital and spiritual quality of one’s life experience thus receiving more clear understanding about our relations and relationships.
The Workshop incorporates the knowledge of Amazon's shamanic healing with the wisdom of Tibetan and Indian traditions. The non-conceptual approach of Integral Healing, Yoga, Tibetan Buddhism and Dzogchen traditions are used to work with the Direct Experience.
The integration and true understanding of the experience is looked as a crucial part of the Medicine. A part of it is done during the Workshop, other part is realised by "living the experiences" in day-to-day situations - after the Workshop.
Workshop's program
Activities of the Workshop:
- › introduction to the Amazon medicine and Ayahuasca traditional use
- › 3 therapeutic ceremonies of Ayahuasca
- › post-integration discussions
- › optional meditation, Yoga and breathing practices
There are three Ayahuasca shamanic ritual sessions during the Workshop (the 1st, 3rd and the 5th night) for physical cleansing (detoxification) and inner exploration. Ayahuasca sessions are done in a ritual setting during the night in a contemplative, meditative ambient and they are accompanied by native jungle chants (icaros), medicine songs and mantras. All the ritual sessions and practices are done in a special round building called "maloca" (which means "temple") 200m from the main part of the jungle lodge.

The accommodation and facilities of the lodge
Arrival to the jungle is around the noon with a morning flight from Lima (during approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes) to Puerto Maldonado. It is the regional centre for Madre de Dios province located in the south-east of the Peruvian Amazon. In the airport we are transported first by the bus, then by the boat to our final destination - a jungle lodge outisde of the city, owned by kind French people "Corto Maltes Amazonia".
The lodge is situated alongside the Madre de Dios river in a calm and friendly environment outside of the city, reachable in a 40 minute trip by a boat. In the same day, after a lunch, we are accommodated in the comfortable jungle bungalows screened by a mosquito net. After a little rest there will be an introduction to the activity program of the following Workshop week: the Ayahuasca experience, the practices and the jungle exploration.
During our stay for 7 days and 6 nights in "Corto Maltes" jungle lodge, we will combine the spiritual journey with the jungle exploration tours. During the week there will be following excursions:
- › a boat-trip to the Monkey Island
- › visit by a boat of the nearby natural reserve, a jungle walk and swimming in the lake Sandoval, a tour by a boat inside the Sandoval lake
- › a boat-trip to the tropical fruit's farm
- › jungle walks to the rainforest of the jungle lodge
- › optional visit to Puerto Maldonado for visiting the Butterfly Farm, the Serpentario (Snake Zoo) orf or the personal needs (i.e. using Internet or doing phonecalls)
All the meals during the week (except the picnic at the lake Sandoval) will be served in the restaurant of the lodge offering flavour rich vegetarian food using the typical products of the Amazon. There will be plenty of time for the rest in the bungalow, walk in the forrest by following the signed trails, enjoy the outdoor swimming pool etc. There is also a small handicraft's shop and the bar with the pool and board games.

Ayahuasca qualities
For the ages the Ayahuasca (Banisteriopsis Caapi) is known by the people throughout all the Amazon jungle as a Mother medicinal plant (master teacher plant), “guide to the spirit world”. In the form of a brew it is used by a shaman or curandero (sp. - healer) and the patients during the traditional medicine ritual (session, ceremony) producing emetic, psychosomatic effects, bringing visions and insights.
These apparent physical and perceptual effects give a person a vivid Direct Experience, a Vision of one’s past and suppressed memories, feelings and emotions, blockages and traumas. There is a purgative, purifying aspect of the Ayahuasca which manifests as releasing out, liberating from something felt as heavy and alien to our true nature. Sometimes it results in throwing up or having a diarrhea. Another aspect is perceived as a “caring Mother”, a feminine sage or master, “teaching” in its own way the truths, not always the ones that we want, rather than those we need for our inner balance and harmony.
This experience results as an introspective process, an experiential journey where a person’s intention and the Ayahuasca’s medicinal qualities turns into a potent tool for genuine therapeutic healing.
